Now that you have read the verse, Let me see if I can add some perspective to it.
My wife and I spent most of last week sick and in bed. We both knew that it was only going to be a matter of time before our baby got sick from us. Well, I can tell you now we are both better, our baby is miserable. All we have to do is look at him, see the water in his eyes, the lack of energy, and just the overall pathetic sad look and it kills us. We both feel horrible because we know our child is suffering and there isn’t really anything we can do about it. I’m sure either one of us would gladly take his place if we could, but that is not how things have to be.
Now imagine for just a moment you witnessed your child suffering. You see him being tortured and humiliated in the worst possible way imaginable. You hear him cry out to you that if there is any way possible he would like for you to take away the pain. Now imagine you had the ability to end all that pain and suffering with the snap of a finger. Would you do it?
This is the position God the Father was in and yet He was still willing to allow His child to suffer all that pain and anguish. Why, because He knew it had to take place to save you and me. Now, read the verse below again
You’ve Heard It, You’ve Read It, You Can Probably Quote it, But Do You Really Get It?
