Have you ever found yourself asking this question when you look at verses like the one below?
As you like at the news, social media, television shows, movies, and even commercials being displayed today do you find your self asking, “With so much negative information out there, I can’ help but find myself drawn to or focused on it. There just aren’t any good movies, shows, or news stories to focus on. The world is simply full of things counter to purity and decency that I cannot escape it. I know God expects me to try and focus on Him but I just don’t see how I can.”
Well, sometimes it helps to consider such verses in relation to other things God has said…perhaps one should consider the following verse as well when these thoughts begin to crowd or mind and we find ourselves focusing on ungodly things.
The other thing I would encourage all to consider is if we fee there isn’t any positive imagery out there, what are we doing about it. If you are frustrated with all the negative influences found on various internet sites, are you helping resolve the issue by taking the time to post positive things so that people have an options to choose whether they want to focus on pure things? We are all familiar with the statement, “If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem” God has called His children to be a light to the world. In order to do that we must step out of the shadows of the norm and spread the positive. It can be done and the more people who step forward and start to create a change, the more positive information will be displayed for people to review and focus on.
It’s very easy to complain about the way things are, it takes effort to make them better. Never forget that God does not expect more from us than we are capable so if He directed His servant Paul to remind Christians to focus on the positive, it not only can be done, it must be done.
