Happiness keeps You Sweet,
Trials keep You Strong,
Sorrows keep You Human,
Failures keeps You Humble,
Success keeps You Glowing,
But Only God keeps You Going!
When times are tough, trials seem strong, sorrows fill your heart, or success is at your fingertips, remember God who sees you through all things.
We all have people who choose to make our lives difficult, the responsibility we have is to respond as a Christian. Let us all work to overcome evil with good.
So the verdict came down and the responses started. The Supreme Court decided today that they know more than God about marriage and approved “Gay Marriage” in all states. For me personally, this decision is not going to change my response to this sinful lifestyle. I will also add for those who may try to accuse me of being a bigot or prejudice, I am also opposed to heterosexuals who are involved in adulterous marriages. Sin is Sin and that is what I stand against, not what people want to sugarcoat and call a “Choice of lifestyle” to make it seem more acceptable. The truth is, it is a choice to live a life of sin.
For Christians, we must continue to hold our course and stand for the Truth. God has never based sin on majority rule and will not start. Actions that were considered sin yesterday will still be considered sin tomorrow no matter who (even the supreme court) says otherwise. As I finish this post I will leave you with a couple verses to consider and lean on.
A simple message from a great coach.
When it comes to our spiritual life this is true as well. We must fully commit our way to the Lord. While it may feel difficult sometimes to do this and be all in, the reward is worth the effort.
May we all fully commit and trust in the Lord.
I was doing my daily run this morning and I had the t.v. on for background noise to help distract me from the fact that I was running. While running a new commercial came on. Now by the end of this commercial the sponsor is named, but I want to express very clearly that this commercial in no way speaks of the product or its benefits, this is purely an agenda being blessed in major media. I am going to give a breakdown of the commercial below.
The first thing we see is a man and a woman’s hand behind the question “When were you first considered a family?” This is followed by the question, “When you fell in love?” and shows a couple taking a photograph. The next couple of questions are, When you got married, when you had kids?” This is then followed by the question, “When did you first fight to be considered a family?” and shows a lesbian couple. This is followed once again by the questions of when you fell in love, when you got married, when you had kids. The next statement made is, “Family isn’t defined by who you love but how you love.” followed by a picture of two gay men with a baby.
What does any of this have to do with Tylenol and its uses? This is clearly a message trying to put forth that there is nothing wrong with the gay life style, family is just about the love you have for someone else. This is clearly opposed to the definition of marriage God has presented in His Word where He speaks of a man and woman leaving father and mother and clinging to one another. That is where family starts. I have a lot of friends that I can say I truly love and care for, but that does not make us a family. We need to stop trying to re-define things to make ourselves or others feel better about the choices being made.
When something like this is brought to our attention it is up to all who believe in the Word of God and His definition of family to stand up and speak. WE must all be able to stand up and live the words of Paul.
We will all one day stand before God. How will we feel if we have to look upon His face and admit, “I didn’t really give my all.” God expects each of us to give Him our all and nothing less. The following passage provides us help in doing this.
David Reagan explained the above verse in the following way.
1.Refuse to give yourself to sin. The verse says that we are not to yield our members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin. Your members are things like your eyes, your ears, your mouth, your mind, your hands, and your feet. In other words, take each part of your body and determine that it is not going to give in to sin. Refuse to let your eyes look on that which is displeasing to the Lord, to let your ears listen to anything they should not, to allow your feet to take you where you should not go, and so on. This step is negative, but it is the first step in giving yourself to God. You must first refuse to give yourself to your own desires and lusts.
2.Yield your whole self unto God. To yield means to give in to, to submit, to surrender. Romans 12:1
speaks of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice unto God. I believe this means that we should come to God in prayer and tell Him that we want to give ourselves unto Him. We choose to give Him our lives and surrender to Him by telling Him that we have decided to do so. You must decide that you want God to have you entirely and that you are willing for Him to be in charge of your life. Tell Him that you want Him to have you entirely. If there is any area of your life that you have not surrendered to Him, tell Him that it also is His to do with as He pleases. If you cannot tell Him that, then you are not ready for giving your all to the Lord.
3. Yield your members as instruments of righteousness unto God. This is the opposite of the first step. In the first step, you consider the different members of your body and refuse to give in to the desires of the flesh. Now, you must go back to each of the members and yield them to the service of God. You can practice this by praying like this: “Lord, where do you want my feet to go today? What do you want my mouth to say? Am I thinking about what you want me to think? Am I watching and listening to those things that are pleasing to you? Am I doing with my hands your will?” God will begin to lead you in His ways. As you grow in the Lord and are ready for more, He will reveal more and more of His will to you.
May the Lord bless you this day.
Forgiveness is something we have all been offered by God and we are expected to offer it to others as well.
Failing to forgive can prevent us from moving forward in our lives. Below is a thought to consider from a man’s perspective followed by God’s teaching on this matter.
Without the forgiveness of the Father we have no hope of moving forward toward Heaven. We must all learn to follow the teachings of Christ to forgive others so that we can be forgiven. If we all just take a moment to remember that we were offered forgiveness for our wrong-doings it will be easier to forgive others for theirs.
1 Jn 1:8-10
May God bless and strengthen you in your efforts to learn and practice forgiveness.
