When you look at the above statement does it cause you to remember a time you may have heard or said it? I recall that this was a warning and something that should concern us, not something good. This was meant to be a warning to us that if we don’t act someone else will.
As you consider this idea have you ever considered applying to speaking about God and His Word? Do you realize this should serve as a reminder to all of us that if we are not telling people about God and His Word and expectation for us, someone else is. We need to remember that what others speak about God does not fall in line with what we believe His Word (the Bible) states to be true. If we truly want the Truth to be taught it is up to each an everyone us to be willing to teach it. If we choose not to then we should not be surprised and really have no right to be upset when people are being misinformed. We must all be willing to do our part to help the Truth spread, if we don’t error will spread in its place and we need to look to ourselves as being part of the problem. To be a follower of Christ (Christian) is to be like Him and part of being like Him is teaching the Truth just as He did.
When it comes to speaking to others about Christ, let us never forget the warning, “If you don’t, someone else will.”
