Wisdom is knowing when to speak your mind
and when to mind your speech.
Prov 10:19 “19 In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.”
Prov 11:13 “13 A talebearer reveals secrets, But he who is of a faithful spirit conceals a matter.”
Prov 13:3 “3 He who guards his mouth preserves his life, But he who opens wide his lips shall have destruction.”
Prov 14:23 “23 In all labor there is profit, But idle chatter[a] leads only to poverty.”
Prov 15:23 “23 A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, And a word spoken in due season, how good it is!”
Prov 17:28 “28 Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.”
Mt 12:36 “36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.”
Jam 1:19 “19 So then,[a] my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;”
May we all strive to learn to speak when it is time to speak and remain silent when it is time to remain silent.
