I find that it is not the circumstances in which we are placed,
but the spirit in which we face them,
that constitutes our comfort.
2 Cor 12:10 “10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.“
Phil 4:11-12 “11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: 12 I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need”
1 Tim 6:6-8 “6 Now godliness with contentment is great gain. 7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain[a] we can carry nothing out. 8 And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content”
Heb 13:5 “5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
May we all face each and every circumstance with the proper spirit and mind directed by the knowledge of God’s Word.
