Most of the people who know me know that I am a big fan of simple easy to remember statements for remembering important things. This morning while I was doing something thinking the below phrase came to mind. I think it is easy to remember but offers an important thought and if it benefits any of you that is great. If not just forget it.
God has said what He will do, so we must do what He has said.
I believe this thought can be seen in the verses below.
1 Cor 14:33 “33 For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.“
Rom 11:22 “22 Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness,[a] if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.“
Mt 7:21-26 “21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.26 “But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: 27 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall.”
I believe we often times become overwhelmed trying to “memorize” too much information. If we can teach ourselves short reminders of how we are to live, they can point us in the right direction (God’s Word) and we can move forward from there. It is not always what you know, but knowing where to look, that makes the difference.
