Yesterday evening we had a father and son come and visit our Bible class. They are from the Tampa, Fl. area but had the opportunity to attend a Virginia Tech football game the following evening. What really impressed me about their showing up midweek to study was the example this father was teaching his young son. The message was plain and clear…While it may be okay to make exceptions and possibly choose to miss a day of school to do something special, we do not take a break from serving God. I really admire this man’s conviction and action and pray that I can be the example others that he has proven to be.
10 Hear, my son, and accept my words,
that the years of your life may be many.
11 I have taught you the way of wisdom;
I have led you in the paths of uprightness.
12 When you walk, your step will not be hampered,
and if you run, you will not stumble.
13 Keep hold of instruction; do not let go;
guard her, for she is your life.
